Starting in the lending business in 1974, I’ve seen a tremendous amount of change in loan products and what they do for borrowers. The business has become more complicated than merely choosing a 30 year or 15 year term, conventional or government product, fixed or adjustable rate. It takes a lender with knowledge and experience to help even an experienced borrower select the best program for their needs. Loan approval processes have also changed so that conditional loan approvals occur within minutes instead of the old-fashioned loan committee manner prevalent in earlier times.
